The University of Kalyani is a government-administered state university located in Kalyani, West Bengal, India. Established on November 1, 1960, through the Kalyani University Act, the institution has grown to become a significant public research university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC.

The university boasts an expansive campus spanning 400 acres, making it the largest state university in West Bengal. Strategically positioned just 50 km from Kolkata, the campus is situated near the eastern bank of the Ganges, offering a unique blend of urban and rural settings. Historically, the land was under American army control during World War II, with some historical infrastructure still remaining.
