    Talk to ProfSam

    Privacy and terms

You are about to write something private about your child. This page says what happens to it, who reads it, what this conversation is and is not, what it costs, and what happens if you need to cancel. The short version is directly below. The rest is set out in full, because a policy that is vague about money becomes an argument later.

    Last updated

This page covers Talk to ProfSam — the private parent advisory session. The rest of profsam.com, including the TNEA tools, ScoreLab and the college directory, is covered by the site-wide privacy policy and terms. Site-wide privacy policy · Site-wide terms

    The short version

    • Only two people ever read what you write: Sam, who you are meeting, and Akshay, who runs the systems behind the booking.
    • The session is not recorded.
    • What you write about your child is deliberately kept out of that booking sheet. It goes to Sam by email so he can prepare, and nowhere else.
    • Razorpay collects the payment. ProfSam never sees or stores your card, UPI or bank details.
    • ₹2,000 from India inclusive of GST, US$59 from anywhere else, for 45 minutes, paid in full when you book.
    • Cancel 24 hours ahead for a full refund, or move the session once at no charge.
    • This is not therapy, medicine, law or regulated financial advice. When you need a specialist, Sam will say so — and if that is clear before you meet, you get the fee back.

    What we ask you for

The booking is split in two on purpose, so that nothing private is asked until your appointment already exists.

    Before you pay

    • Your name.
    • Your email address.
    • Your mobile number.
    • The country you are booking from, so that the fee and your local time are right.
    • Whether you would like appointment reminders on WhatsApp. This is a tick box, and it is optional.

    After your appointment is confirmed

    • What brings you: something to solve, a decision to make, a plan to stress-test, something to think ahead about — or something that fits none of those.
    • Your child’s age, as a band rather than a date of birth.
    • What is happening, in your own words.
    • What you would most like to be clearer about by the end of the conversation.

That is everything. We do not ask for identity documents, school or college records, medical records, bank statements, your child’s contact details, or anything about anyone else in the family. If something is hard to write down, keep it short or leave it until the call — the appointment is already yours either way.

    Who can see it

Two people. Sam, who you are meeting, and Akshay, who builds and runs the booking system. There is no assistant, no freelancer, no sales team and no third party being paid to look at your situation.

What you write is never sent to an advertising or analytics tool. We do not sell your information, we do not trade it, and booking a session does not add you to a mailing list.

To be straightforward about it: this runs on other companies’ software, and they hold the data on their systems as they do for any business that uses them. They are Google, Amazon, Razorpay for the payment, and AuthKey for WhatsApp messages. They are not given it for their own purposes.

If something from a real conversation would ever make a useful anonymous example for other parents, we would ask you first, and saying no changes nothing about your session.

    Where it is kept

    Your appointment
An entry in Sam’s calendar with a Google Meet link, which you are invited to. The entry carries the words “Talk to ProfSam” and your name, and nothing else. Nothing about your child appears in it — calendar entries surface on lock screens and in shared views, so we keep them empty.
    The booking facts
One private booking sheet that only Sam and Akshay can open. It holds the booking reference, the date and time, your name, email, mobile and country, the fee and its currency, the payment reference, and whether the session was moved or missed.
What you write about your child
Deliberately kept out of that sheet. A spreadsheet is the easiest thing in any system to share by accident, so your account of the situation is not put in one. It is emailed to Sam, and Sam is the person who reads it to prepare for your call.
    Email
Sent from talk@profsam.com. Your confirmation carries the appointment — the time, the link, the fee, how to cancel. Only Sam’s copy carries what you wrote, because confirmation emails are forwarded and printed far more often than anyone expects.
    Sam’s notes
After the session Sam keeps a short private record — what was discussed and the way forward — so that his written follow-up makes sense and so that he is not starting from nothing if you come back. Only Sam and Akshay can see it.

    The session is not recorded

There is no recording, no transcript and no automatic notetaker on a Talk to ProfSam session. Sam writes notes himself, as anyone would in a professional conversation.

If there were ever a reason to record a session, we would ask you first, and it would not happen unless you said yes. Nothing on this page and nothing in your booking counts as that permission.

    WhatsApp

WhatsApp reminders are optional. Nothing goes to WhatsApp unless you tick the box.

If you do tick it, WhatsApp carries three things and only three: the date, the time in your timezone, and the joining link. What you wrote about your child is never sent over WhatsApp, and neither is anything else from the intake. If you would rather have nothing on WhatsApp at all, leave the box alone — your confirmation email carries everything you need.

The messages come from +91 91500 14192, and they are sent for us by a messaging company. It is given your number, your first name, the date and time, and the joining link — nothing else, and never anything you wrote about your child.

That number is not read by anyone. It sends and nothing more, so please do not reply to it — replying to your confirmation email reaches a person. If you would rather message a human directly, +91 91500 14191 is the number on the rest of this site, and someone does answer it.

    How the payment is handled

Payments are taken by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay’s side and go to Razorpay. ProfSam never sees them and never stores them — there is nowhere in our systems for a card number to live.

What we keep is the record of the payment: the amount, the currency, whether it succeeded, and Razorpay’s reference for it. That is what a refund is processed against, and what our accounts are made from.

    What the website measures

Separately from your booking, profsam.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages lead to a conversation. That is ordinary website measurement. It never contains your intake.

If you arrived from a campaign link, the tags on that link are stored alongside your booking, so we can tell which posts actually reach parents. They describe where you came from, not who you are or what you wrote.

Seeing or deleting what we hold

We keep what you wrote and Sam’s notes until you ask us to delete them. There is no fixed date after which they disappear, and saying so is more honest than naming a period nobody would enforce.

Write to talk@profsam.com from the address you booked with and tell us what you want removed. You do not have to give a reason. We will remove it, and tell you when it is done.

Two honest exceptions. A completed payment leaves a record with Razorpay and in our accounts that has to be kept for tax; and where the law requires us to keep something, we keep it. Everything else — what you wrote, Sam’s notes, your row in the sheet — can go.

If you would rather see what we hold than delete it, ask the same way and we will send it to you.

What this service is, and what it is not

Talk to ProfSam is one 45-minute private advisory conversation with Sam about one important situation involving your child. He listens, tests the assumptions, and helps you find a practical next step.

It is not therapy or counselling. It is not medical advice. It is not legal advice. It is not regulated financial or investment advice. Sam is not your doctor, your psychologist, your lawyer or your financial adviser, and booking a session does not make him any of those things.

When a situation needs one of those people, Sam will say so plainly and as early as he sees it. Saying “this belongs with a specialist” is part of the job, not a failure of it — and if that is already clear from your intake, the session is cancelled and your fee refunded in full before you meet.

ProfSam is here to help you make a better decision, not to help you control your child. Your child’s dignity, safety and independence matter in the conversation, particularly if they are an adult.

This is not an emergency service

If there is immediate risk of self-harm, violence, abuse, a medical emergency or an acute psychiatric crisis, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional now. Do not wait for an appointment.

    What the booking includes

    • One 45-minute private online session with Sam, in English, on Google Meet.
    • One primary situation involving your child. An unrelated second one is a separate conversation.
    • A short written follow-up after the session, setting out the way forward you agreed.
    • Your child does not need to join. This is designed as a conversation with the parent.

It does not include open-ended advice by WhatsApp, email or phone between sessions. If more is needed, the honest answer is another booked session rather than a conversation that quietly never ends.

The fee, and when you pay

    Booking from India
₹2,000 for one 45-minute session, inclusive of GST.
    Booking from anywhere else
US$59 for one 45-minute session. No Indian tax applies.

The full fee is paid when you book. Your appointment is not confirmed until that payment has been verified on our side. There is no token deposit, no part payment, and nothing to settle after the conversation.

The price you see is the price you pay. ₹2,000 is the whole amount, with GST already inside it — nothing is added at the payment screen. A session booked from outside India is an export of services, so no Indian tax applies to it.

While you are paying, your chosen time is held for a short while so that nobody else can take it. If the payment is not completed, the time is released and no appointment exists.

The price you see before you pay is the price. There is no crossed-out figure and no discount to wait for.

    Changing, cancelling and refunds

24 hours or more before your session
Cancel for a full refund, or move to another time once at no charge.
Less than 24 hours before, or you do not come
The fee is not refunded. If something genuinely serious happened, write to us and we will look at it — that is discretion on our side rather than a right on yours, and nothing here takes away a right the law where you live gives you.
    If ProfSam cancels
You choose: another time, or a full refund.
If your intake shows the matter belongs with a specialist
The session is cancelled and the fee is refunded in full, before you meet.

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid from, through Razorpay. How long they take to appear is up to your bank.

To cancel or move a session, reply to your confirmation email or write to talk@profsam.com. Please give as much notice as you can — the time goes back to another parent.

    There is no guarantee

There is no satisfaction guarantee and no outcome guarantee, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

What you are paying for is 45 minutes of Sam’s undivided attention, prepared in advance, and a clear next step at the end of it. He will tell you what he actually thinks, including when it is not what you hoped to hear. What happens afterwards depends on your family, your child and a great deal none of us controls, and nobody can honestly promise you a result.

The protection we do give you is the one above: your money back if you change your mind in time, if we cancel, or if this turns out to be the wrong room for your situation.

Getting in touch, and the small print

One address for anything to do with a session — booking, rescheduling, refunds, privacy, or telling us we got something wrong: talk@profsam.com. A person reads it, and you should have a reply within one working day.
