Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) is a private university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Established through the Suresh Gyan Vihar University Act (Act no. 16 of 2008) by the government of Rajasthan, the university has deep roots tracing back to its parent organization, Sahitya Sadawart Samiti, which was founded in 1938 by Shri Kamlakar 'Kamal' and Acharya Shri Purushottam 'Uttam'.

The university evolved from Gyan Vihar College, which had been in existence since 1999. Initially starting with a School of Engineering & Technology spread over 32 acres within Jaipur City, SGVU has since expanded into numerous academic disciplines. These include Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Hospitality, Interdisciplinary and Liberal Studies, Applied Sciences, Agriculture, Journalism, and Arts.

Recognized as a State University, Suresh Gyan Vihar University received official approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) on April 1, 2009. The university was initiated under the guidance of Chairman Shri Sunil Sharma and its first vice-chancellor, Dr. Sudhanshu, who has continued to serve as the Chief Mentor since 2012. With its comprehensive academic offerings and established institutional history, SGVU represents a significant educational institution in Rajasthan's higher education landscape.

Suresh Gyan Vihar University has total of 6 hostels with 4 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. All the hostels are equipped with facilities like- Wi-Fi, free gymnasium and yoga classes, baking facility, indoor and outdoor games, computer lab, hygienic mess services on complimentary basis.

The computer lab has more than 480 computers (HP-Compaq, IBM, Wipro, HCL, Dell) with 10 IBM servers and a Student PC ratio of 2:1. The maximum batch size is of 21 students at a time with one faculty member and supporting technical staff for laboratory.

Library has subscribed/procured about 1724 online journals through DELNET. The total number of printed holdings are more than One Lakh, including various, books on varied streams, printed journals, and magazines, dissertation of M-Tech scholars and Research thesis of PhD candidates including various fields of Engineering & Technology , ISBM , Pharmacy , BHMCT , Bio Science , Education , Braille Books , Distance Education ,Book Bank , Agriculture. 

The central library is member of ‘Developing Library Network' DELNET (DATABASE services). Users can access various database of about 2 crore books, journals, thesis, non-print materials etc. available with 4697 INDIAN and Foreign library.
