Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam is a government women's university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Founded in 1983 by Sri N.T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the university was established with a mission to train women students as better builders of the nation and develop leadership skills.

The university spans 138 acres at the foot of the sacred Tirumala Hills and has grown significantly since its inception, starting with ten faculties, 300 students, and twenty staff members. Today, it hosts approximately 5,000 students and offers a comprehensive academic portfolio with 4 schools and 25 departments. Students can choose from 60 programme options, including five postgraduate diplomas, four undergraduate programs, 30 postgraduate courses, and 21 Ph.D. programs.

Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam is known for its innovative academic offerings, featuring courses with high job market demand such as MBA in Media Management, an integrated five-year Biotechnology program, Bachelor of Physical Education, and Bioinformatics. The university is also distinguished by its 8 Incubation Centres, which support entrepreneurs, particularly women entrepreneurs in India. Notably, the university has been accredited with an 'A+' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and was ranked 60th in India by the NIRF in the pharmacy ranking in 2024.

The university maintains international academic linkages, including a staff development program with Loughborough University in the UK, a Women Entrepreneurship Development collaboration with the Université de Montréal in Canada, and an exchange program with the Chinese Government for research in Sericulture.
