The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is a government institute located in the Kundli industrial area of Sonipat, Haryana. Established under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, NIFTEM was first announced in the 2006-07 budget and officially inaugurated in 2012 with an initial investment of ₹500 crore on 100 acres of land.

NIFTEM offers a comprehensive range of academic programs focused on food technology and management. These include a 4-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) curriculum, 2-year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programs, Ph.D. degrees, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) course specializing in food and agribusiness management. Admission to undergraduate programs is based on the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Mains), while M.Tech. admissions require Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores and a personal interview.

In 2021, NIFTEM was granted the prestigious Institute of National Importance status, enhancing its academic and financial autonomy. The institute has made significant strides in food technology education, with notable achievements including the establishment of four incubation centres for product testing and development, and a food-testing laboratory. NIFTEM is committed to promoting food science education, technology development, and entrepreneurship in the food processing sector, with a mission to transform into an international institute of food technology, entrepreneurship, and management.
