Mohammad Ali Jauhar University is a private university located in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, established in 2006 by the Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university was granted official university status in 2012 and received minority status from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions in May 2013.

The university offers a comprehensive range of academic programs across multiple faculties. The Sir Syed Faculty of Science provides bachelor's and master's degrees in disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Zoology, Botany, and Biochemistry. Additionally, the university offers PhD programs in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Zoology. The Mulayam Singh Yadav Faculty of Humanities features departments of Psychology, English, Urdu, Commerce, and Management, with bachelor's and master's degree programs in these fields.

Other notable academic units include the Jauhar Institute of Engineering and Technology, which offers engineering programs in Electronics and Communication, Civil, Mechanical, Information Technology, Computer Science, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Named after Mohammad Ali Jouhar, an Indian Muslim activist and a leading figure of the Khilafat Movement, the university was originally proposed in 2004 as a potential state-owned Urdu university in Uttar Pradesh. While it ultimately developed as a private institution, it continues to honor the legacy of its namesake through its diverse academic offerings and commitment to educational development.

The university has the separate hostel for boys and girls which are well facilitated with Geyser facility, RO, Watercooler, Hostel gym, indoor and outdoor sports facility, 24-hour reading room, hygienic kitchen and dining hall.

The Mumtaz Central Library is an embodiment of eminent architecture. It occupies the most central place of the University. It is a multi-storied building with its exclusive ambiance. The library is rich in terms of books, journals, magazines, encyclopedias including almost 6,000 oriental books, manuscripts. Approximately 35,000 documents/volumes formulate the treasure of the library. It witnesses an addition of 5 to 6 thousands volumes per year. Library also facilitates e-books and e-journals through DELNET.
