Mizoram University is a government educational institution located in Aizawl, Mizoram. The university has been recognized for its academic achievements, including an A+ accreditation from NAAC in its 3rd cycle. One of its notable departments is the Department of Clinical Psychology, established in 2019 and situated in the Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) building on the university campus.

The Department of Clinical Psychology offers several academic programs, including a regular M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. program that began in 2021. Recently, the department received approval from the Rehabilitation Council of India to start a 2-year M.Phil. program in Clinical Psychology with 10 seats, beginning in the 2023 academic session. The department is committed to producing well-trained mental health professionals specifically focused on serving the needs of people in the North-East region, particularly Mizoram.

The university demonstrates an active academic environment, hosting various seminars, workshops, and conferences. These include international events such as the International Conference on Literature and Culture in the Digital Age and the International Symposium on Climate Change and Disaster Adaptation. All faculty members in the Department of Clinical Psychology are qualified mental health professionals registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India, ensuring high-quality education and research in the field of clinical psychology.

Mizoram University has also embraced contemporary educational approaches, recently adopting the New Education Policy (NEP) guidelines for its postgraduate courses. The university continues to expand its academic offerings and research capabilities, providing educational opportunities across various disciplines and contributing to the academic and professional development of students in the region.

Mizoram University has 7 hostels 4 for girls(140 capacity)  and 3 for boys(162 capacity)  which are named as Phawngpui Hostel, Lengteng Hostel, Dingdi Hostel, Ainawn Hostel, and Senhri Hostel. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system etc.

Central Library, Mizoram University has a collection of 1,06,658 number of books, 378 theses, 303 M.Phil dissertations, 336  master degree dissertations/project work and 11,364 numbers of bound volumes of journals. The Library subscribes to 242 Journals, 39 General periodicals, and 20 dailies. E-Resources has been provided by INFLIBNET through e-ShodhSindhu, Consortia for Higher Education E-Resources, where resources from 22 Publishers are available -7,506 number of e-journals.
