Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is a government state university located in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1991 by Nanaji Deshmukh, the university has undergone several name changes, evolving from Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidhayalay to its current name in 1997.

Recognized as India's first rural university, MGCGV is dedicated to empowering rural communities through education, innovation, and sustainable development. The university has earned an 'A++' accreditation from NAAC and is recognized as a UGC Category-I University. It offers a comprehensive academic structure comprising five faculties and sixteen departments, covering diverse fields such as Agriculture, Arts, Rural Development and Business Management, Science and Environment, and Engineering and Technology.
