I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) is a public technical university located in Ibban, Punjab, situated along the Jalandhar - Kapurthala Highway. Established on 16th January, 1997, the university was initially founded as Punjab Technical University and later renamed in honor of Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, Former Prime Minister of India, in 2015.

The university has a comprehensive mandate to promote technical, management, and pharmaceutical education at the degree level and beyond. PTU aims to set up centers of excellence in emerging technologies and focuses on training students to develop skilled manpower in various sectors. Currently, the university has an impressive network of 121 AICTE and 65 UGC affiliated institutes, offering over 30 bachelor's degrees in Engineering & Technology and more than 20 non-AICTE & UGC courses.

PTU operates across multiple campuses, with a total land area of 78.16 acres throughout Punjab. The university began its journey with 09 Engineering and 05 Management colleges and has since expanded its academic offerings. It provides full-time programs in diverse fields including Agriculture, Computer Science, Engineering, Fashion, Journalism, Management, and Medicine. The university is committed to delivering education in English and offers both regular and distance education programs to cater to a wide range of students' educational needs.
