CMJ University (CMJU) is a private university located in Jorabat, Meghalaya, India. Established on 22 July 2009 through an Act of the Meghalaya State Legislature, the university was founded under the CMJ University Act, 2009 (Act No.4 of 2009).

The university is officially recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is empowered to award degrees as specified under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. This recognition was confirmed by a notification dated 25 November 2010, which validated the university's status as a state private university.

CMJ University offers a diverse range of academic programs across multiple faculties, including Engineering & Technology, Arts and Crafts, Commerce, Science, Management, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, Design and Architecture, and Applied Science. The university operates from its permanent campus in the Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya, located on G.S. Road in Jorabat.

The university has navigated some administrative challenges, including show cause notices from the Government of Meghalaya in 2013 and 2014. However, a High Court order dated 16 July 2015 quashed these notices, allowing the university to continue its operations. A fully furnished cafeteria with enough spaces in rows of small tables for serving characterized by neat and cleanliness. It provides all types of nutritious and hygienic food and beverages and also many ethnic dishes of north east.

The university has fully furnished and cozy hostels having total capacity of nearly 500 students. The calm serene tranquil atmosphere of hostel guided by discipline plays a key role in student's personality development because they find time to spend with him.
In a week three days will be non-veg meal. Students are not allowed to leave the hostel without written permission of the hostel warden or recommendation
of their guardian/local guardian. Hostel fee once paid will not be refundable. Seat will available as per 1st come 1st service.

In-Campus Hostel

The library of CMJ University has a lavish collection of books, periodicals, reports and reference material in its shelves and racks and maintaining through an Open Access System. A separate research center subscribes to major technical journals, magazines and newspapers., Photocopy, lamination and spiral binding facilities are available for students in a different section of the library. The University act as keen supplier of knowledge in this age of global access and creates an exposure and accessibility to students through its special facilities like e-journals and online journals.

The proposed Sports Complex planned at the campus will reverberate with energy and will inspire students to challenge themselves. CMJU also provides professional guidance and coaching for specific sports for interested students.
