CEPT University, located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a private academic institution with a rich history of educational innovation in environmental and design disciplines. Originally established as the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, the university has evolved significantly since its inception in 1962, starting with the School of Architecture and progressively expanding its academic offerings.

The university comprises five distinct faculties that cover a comprehensive range of disciplines. The Faculty of Architecture, established in 1962, focuses on design in the private realm and offers specialized programs including a Masters in Landscape Architecture. The Faculty of Planning, founded in 1972, concentrates on public realm planning, while the Faculty of Technology, established in 1982, emphasizes engineering and construction. The Faculty of Design, created in 1991, addresses habitat-related interiors, crafts, systems, and products, offering contemporary design education. In 2008, the university also added a Faculty of Management, which was later refined to focus on Habitat and Project Management.

CEPT University has undergone significant transformational stages in its institutional development. Initially an autonomous institute recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), it was affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, it became a full-fledged university through the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University Act, and was subsequently renamed CEPT University in 2010. The institution has also established specialized research centers including the CEPT Research & Development Foundation, Center for Urban Equity, Center for Advanced Research in Building Science & Energy, and Design Innovation & Craft Resource Center, demonstrating its commitment to advanced academic and research pursuits.

CEPT University boys hostel consists of two blocks and offers facilities like a daily newspaper, telephone, common room with T.V, gym and a common canteen.
Apart from that it also provides facilities like:
'Paying Guest Housing Mela' which is organized by students where PG housing providers will present housing options within close proximity to CEPT University.
'Initial Home Stay Service' where a student will stay with the family of a current CEPT student/ faculty member/ staff or alumni for one week during which (s)he may find an accommodation for himself/ herself.

In-Campus Hostel

CEPT University's library has more than 46,000 resources which include books, bound volumes of journals, theses, students’ reports, 150 national and international periodicals, apart from this, the library has audiovisual resources on CDs, DVDs and Slides.

CEPT library has membership with The British Library & NID Library. CEPT members can avail the facilities of these libraries.
