The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) is a research-intensive government university located in Brambe, Jharkhand. Established in 2009 through an Act of the Parliament of India, the university has been recognized by the University Grants Commission and has received an 'A+' grade from NAAC in 2025.

The university operates two campuses: a 45-acre temporary campus in Brambe and a 510-acre permanent campus in Cheri-Manatu. The Brambe campus features 70 independent classrooms, teaching labs, a 450-seat auditorium, research facilities, and on-campus accommodation for 1000 students in separate boys' and girls' hostels.

CUJ offers a diverse range of academic programs across multiple schools, including the School of Social Sciences, School of Mass Communication and Media Technologies, School of Natural Sciences, School of Languages, and School of Engineering and Technology. These schools encompass departments such as International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, English Studies, Mass Communication, and Engineering disciplines like Metallurgical and Material Engineering and Energy Engineering.

The university has had several notable leaders since its founding, including its first Vice Chancellor Darlando Khathing, who was appointed on March 1, 2009. Subsequent leadership has included A.N. Misra, Nand Kumar Yadav Indu, and currently, Prof. Kshiti Bhusan Das, who leads the institution.

The Central library, serves as the powerhouse for research and studies for the entire University.Spread over three floors,the library is an invaluable resource with 61800 books and 20000 back volumes of periodicals. It is automated with an integrated library software package called Libsys–LSmart and modernized with latest Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based automation system.The online repository hosted by the library also hosts every paper,dissertation and thesis published by the students and faculty.

Central University of Jharkhand has one sports complex where students can have full use of indoor games. Facilities includes like table tennis, wushu, carrom, chess, Yoga and many more within the campus.
