Birla Global University (BGU) is a private university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, established in 2015 by Basant Kumar Birla and Sarla Birla. The university operates on a sprawling 30-acre campus situated in the IDCO, Gothapatna area of Bhubaneswar, and was founded through the Birla Global University Odisha Act, 2015.

BGU offers a diverse range of academic programs across multiple schools, including the Birla School of Management, Birla School of Communication, Birla School of Economics, Birla School of Commerce, Birla School of Law, Birla School of Applied Sciences, and Birla School of Engineering & Technology. These schools provide undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various disciplines such as Management, Journalism & Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Law, Computer Science, and Engineering.

The university is governed by a Board of Governors, with Jayshree Mohta serving as the Chairperson. The Honorable Governor of Odisha holds the position of Chancellor. BGU traces its roots to the Birla Academy of Art & Culture, established in Calcutta in 1964, which has been instrumental in promoting education, arts, and culture. The university continues the legacy of its founders by focusing on industry-driven learning, innovation, and holistic student development.

Birla Global University mess serves breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner to the students as per the menu decided by the student's, there is also the cafeteria – B'café on the campus which serves a variety of snacks to cater to the students' taste buds.

Birla Global University adequate on and off campus hostel facilities for the students. Rooms in hostels can be used on a single or twin sharing basis. The hostels are designed to provide a proper mix of privacy and a unique social experience. Hostels are fully equipped with Medical Center with a full time senior resident doctor assisted by reputed visiting doctors and other attending staff. An Ambulance is available in campus 24 X 7 to meet any medical emergency.

Birla Global University library is equipped with precious books, textbooks, reference books, periodicals, and journals. It is supported by a large AC two floored reading-room. The library is enriched with digital facilities and computer system. Free access to this is made available to the students, ex-students, research workers, faculty, staff, and visitors. Students can also access to online resources in the library like ET CASES, Business Line on Campus (BLoC), ProQuest, British Council Library, National Digital Library (NDL), Harvard Business Review and Scientific American Journals.
