Assam Down Town University (ADTU) is a private university located in Panikhaiti, Guwahati, Assam. Established in 2010 through the Assam Down Town University Act, the university is situated on a spacious 42-acre campus overlooking the Brahmaputra River, just 12 km from the Assam State Secretariat.

The university has a rich educational background, tracing its roots back to 1993 with the establishment of the Down Town School of Nursing, the first private nursing school in Northeast India. By 1997, the group had expanded to include a paramedical institute offering diplomas in various allied health streams. In 2009, the Down Town Charity Trust, promoted by Down Town Hospital Limited, successfully obtained university status for its educational project.

ADTU offers over 60 courses and hosts more than 8,000 students from 10 Indian states and neighboring countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria. The university comprises multiple faculties, including Paramedical Science, Science, Nursing, Humanities and Social Science, Commerce and Management, Pharmaceutical Science, and Engineering & Technology. The campus features modern facilities such as two seminar rooms, an auditorium with audiovisual equipment, and an in-campus amphitheater. The university is led by Dr. Narendra Nath Dutta as Chancellor, Dr. Narayan Chandra Talukdar as Vice Chancellor, and Prof Bandana Dutta as Dean of Studies.
