University College of Engineering – Pattukkottai, Thanjavur (TNEA Code: 3021)

Hello everyone. Today we're diving into the University College of Engineering in Patu Kotai. It's a government college in the Thanore district and its TNEA code is 3021. Right off the bat, two things really make this college stand out. First, it's a direct constituent college of an university. And second, 100% of its seats are filled through TNA counseling. That means no management quota. Let's dig into what that really means for you. So, first things first, let's really understand the core identity of this college and what it brings to the table. Now that term constituent college, it's actually a pretty big deal. This isn't just another affiliated college. Think of it as a direct campus of Anna University. That means the curriculum, the exams, the rules, everything comes directly from the main university. So, a little bit of history. This college was set up back in 2009 and it had a very clear purpose to make government engineering education accessible to students in the coastal parts of the Than District. Fast forward to today and it operates completely under the control of Anna University Chennai and that direct link to the main university, it really matters. You see, being a part of Anna University connects this campus to an institution that's ranked 20th in the country by the NIF engineering rankings for 2025. Okay, so what can you actually study here? Let's get into the specific engineering programs and the admissions process. In total, we're looking at 300 undergraduate seats up for grabs for aspiring engineers. And those 300 seats are spread across these seven bachelor of engineering programs. As you can see, the focus here is on the core foundational branches, civil, cse, ECE, triple E, and mechanical. Now, here's something really important to know. If you're more comfortable studying in Tamil, the college offers full degree programs in both civil and mechanical engineering in Tamil medium. That's a huge plus. All right, moving on from academics, let's talk about campus. life. You know, the practical stuff like where you'll stay and how you'll get around. Now, if you're not from the area, this next part is for you. The college does have separate hostel facilities right on campus for both boys and girls. And let's get into some of the nitty-gritty details. The hostel mess serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. One thing to note is that the college doesn't run its own bus service, but it's pretty well connected. The nearest railway station, a Durham patina, is just 5 km away. Okay, let's talk about something that's on every family's mind. Money. What kind of financial support is available for students here? And this is where being a government college is a massive advantage. Students here are eligible for a whole range of scholarships from both the Tamilu government and the central government. So, if you're eligible, you can apply for key financial aid like the SC/ST scholarship, the BC/NBC scholarship, the first graduate scholarship if you're the first in your family to go to college, and the postmatric scholarship for minorities. All right, this is probably the biggest question for most of you. What about placements? What happens after the 4 years of engineering? To figure that out, let's take a look at the official numbers that the college itself has provided for the TNA counseling process. So, the number we have from the official data is 65%. That's the placement rate the college reported for Tenia 2025 counseling. This gives you a clear baseline for what to expect in terms of career outcomes. And just to be super clear, all the information we share today comes straight from the college's own website and trusted government portals. Everything was current at the time we put this together.
