Sarabhai Institute of Science and Technology (SIST) is a self-financing educational institution located in Vellanad, a rustic village on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Named after Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, a pioneer of space science and technology in India, the institute was established by the Space Engineers Welfare Society (SEWELS) with government approval.

Spread across a 25-acre campus, SIST offers a picturesque learning environment with comprehensive infrastructural facilities including hostels, canteen, library, and fully-equipped laboratories. The institute was founded with the vision of molding high-quality experts in frontier engineering disciplines, embodying Dr. Sarabhai's dream of advancing technological education.

The college has a dedicated Research & Development Department that promotes innovative activities among students and faculty. Its primary focus is designing and developing socially relevant systems that can be applied in everyday life. SIST also features a robust career guidance and placement unit, coordinated by an executive committee comprising a placement officer, two deputy placement officers, and five faculty members from each department.
