University Institute of Technology (UIT), The University of Burdwan, is a prestigious government engineering institute located in Bardhaman, West Bengal. Established in 1999, the institute represents the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) and is a constituent part of the University of Burdwan. It holds the distinction of being the only Government Engineering Public Technical Institute in the Purba Bardhaman district.

The institute has received notable recognition, being NAAC 'A'-accredited and operating under the TEQIP initiative. Its academic offerings have expanded systematically since its inception, starting with three graduate engineering courses in 2000 - Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), and Information Technology (IT). By 2003, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE) was introduced, followed by Electrical Engineering (EE) and Civil Engineering (CE) in 2008.

Located approximately 100 km northwest of Kolkata, the campus is strategically situated on the southern side of the Grand Trunk Road. The institution's academic campus spans 400 acres in Golapbag, with excellent connectivity through the Barddhaman Junction railway station and proximity to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata and Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport in Durgapur. The institute offers an annual intake of 360 students for B.E. programs and 36 students for M.E. courses, with admission based on WBJEE and GATE scores respectively. Student facilities include multiple hostels such as Banabas Boys' Hostel, S.N. Bose Boys' Hostel, J.C. Bose Boys' Hostel, and Madame Curie Girls' Hostel.
