The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Karnataka, and affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. It offers multiple engineering programs, with three key programs in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, and Civil Engineering accredited by NBA, New Delhi. The institution has been recognized as one of the top 10 Engineering Colleges in north Karnataka according to a USA-based Neilson survey report.

Tontadarya College of Engineering focuses on producing employable students through innovative educational approaches. These include outcome-based teaching, state-of-the-art laboratories, industry-connected projects, and strong industry partnerships. In the 2020-21 academic year, over 150 out of 220 eligible students secured placements in reputed companies.
