Thangavelu Engineering College is a private institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1995, the college is affiliated with Anna University Chennai. Spread across a 12.00-acre campus, Thangavelu Engineering College offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs.

The college was established by the Ponniamman Educational Trust and the TJ Educational Trust with the objective of producing high-quality engineers and technocrats. Thangavelu Engineering College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is also ISO 9001:2008 certified.

Thangavelu Engineering College organizes various events and activities throughout the year, including Women's Day celebrations, Pongal celebrations, industrial visits, IoT workshops, and book distribution ceremonies. The college also recently celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the 1995-1999 batch, marking 25 years since its establishment.
