Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) is an autonomous engineering institute located in Andheri (West), Mumbai. Established in 1995 as an extension of Sardar Patel College of Engineering, the institute became an independent unaided entity in 2005. Situated on a spacious 47-acre green campus in Munshi Nagar, SPIT is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and offers comprehensive engineering education.

The institute provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering and computer applications. Students can pursue courses in disciplines such as Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology. Admission to the B.Tech programs is conducted through the state-level entrance examination MHCET, with a structured seat allocation process.

In 2017, SPIT achieved a significant milestone by being conferred with autonomous status by Mumbai University, becoming the youngest institute affiliated with the university to do so. The institution is part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's educational network and has developed a strong alumni base of over 4,000 members. Currently led by Dr. Bhalchandra Chaudhari as principal, the institute continues to contribute to technical education in Maharashtra.

Located in the vibrant campus that also houses other prominent institutions like Sardar Patel College of Engineering and S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, SPIT offers students a dynamic and comprehensive educational environment.

The institute's library has a collection of more than 20000 books and subscribed to National and International periodicals along with several online journals. The library has an Institutional membership of British Council Library (BCL). S.P.I.T. Library subscribed IEEE ASPP (All Society Periodicals Package). The library is also the member of ACM Digital Library. Library provides NPTEL online lectures of the eminent personality of various IITs, and there are made available to user online through Intranet.
