Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) is a premier maritime education institution located in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Established with the goal of developing high-calibre seafarers, the institute is sponsored by Executive Ship Management Private Limited, Singapore, and is recognized by the D.G Shipping, Government of India and affiliated with the Indian Maritime University.

The institute offers comprehensive maritime training programs, including pre-sea and post-sea training for cadets and ship masters. Spread across fifty acres along the Indrayani River, the campus features impressive facilities including a residential complex for 400 candidates, an auditorium, a ship-in-campus, maritime science centre, nautical and engineering workshops, and a swimming pool. A unique highlight is the world's only LPG Simulator with integrated hardware and software, and the only maritime training institute in India with a free fall lifeboat training facility.

SIMS has been operational since August 1, 2005, with its first batch of 40 deck cadets. In 2015, the institute was ranked No. 1 among all maritime training institutes in India by the DG Shipping Government of India, based on criteria including infrastructure, faculty quality, and placement records. The campus is also notable for its commitment to sustainable energy, featuring a 90-meter solar wall - claimed to be the world's longest - and solar heating panels for water. Graduates are guaranteed in-house placement on ESM-managed vessels upon successful course completion, reflecting the institute's strong industry connections and comprehensive training approach.
