Rural Engineering College, located in Bhalki, Bidar district of Karnataka, is a private institution established in September 1982. The college is affiliated with VTU, Belgaum and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It was formerly known as Rural Engineering College and is now recognized as Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology.

    The institute boasts impressive infrastructure, featuring a 50,000 sq.m. built-up area with well-equipped facilities including laboratories, workshops, drawing halls, seminar halls, and a comprehensive library housing about 58,000 books and over 1,500 journals. The campus provides extensive student support with three boys' hostels accommodating 700 students and two girls' hostels for 350 students, along with additional amenities like a computer center, gymnasium, and sports facilities.

    The college has a diverse student population, with approximately 50% of students from Karnataka and the remaining 50% from various states across India, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and others. The institution has a strong placement record, with 80% of eligible students successfully placed in government, private, and public sector organizations in India and abroad. The college also offers unique programs like satellite-based education through EDUSAT and VSAT, and participates in community initiatives such as the 'Mahiti Sindhu' computer education program for government high school students in Bidar District.

    Managed by the Shanti Vardhak Education Society, the college was founded under the leadership of notable personalities like Dr. Channabasava Pattadevaru and Shri Bheemana Khandre. Currently led by Mr. Ishwar Khandre, the institution provides transparent admission processes and offers fee concessions and scholarships for meritorious students scoring above 75% marks or ranking high in engineering entrance examinations.
