R.M.D. Engineering College has been shortlisted out of 95 institutions across the country for the implementation of the AICTE IDEA LAB, a prestigious project with a total cost of Rs.1.11 Crore. The college's Institution Innovation Council (IIC) has also been conferred with the highest grade of Four Star Rating by the Ministry of Education (MoE) for the academic year 2022-23. Additionally, the college has received several other awards and recognitions, including the Aspiring Minds National Employability Award, the Eat Right Campus Excellent Award, and the Cyient Award for the best industry-linked technical institute from the AICTE CII survey in 2020.

R.M.D. Engineering College's hostel are spacious, adequately ventilated, well maintained and furnished with necessary accessories. The hostel also has a separate gymnasium and beauty parlor for the girls and a gymnasium, and air-conditioned saloon for the boys. The hostel, in addition, has a general store for provisions required by the students.
