Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RCERT), located in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, is a private engineering institution with a rich history of technical education. Founded in 1983 by Shri Shantaramji Potdukhe, the college began with a modest start of five branches and 180 seats, and has since grown significantly to become a prominent engineering institution in the region.

    Today, RCERT offers a comprehensive range of academic programs, including undergraduate and postgraduate courses across multiple engineering disciplines. The college provides seven B.Tech programs in Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, and Mining Engineering, with a total intake of 520 seats. Additionally, the institution offers three M.Tech programs in Computer Science & Engineering, Energy Management System, and CAD/CAM, along with doctoral research opportunities in various engineering and applied science fields.

    The college is affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University and has been accredited by NAAC, Bangalore. It is managed by the Sardar Patel Memorial Society, which aims to transform educational opportunities in the Vidarbha region. RCERT boasts professional affiliations with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institution of Engineers (IEI), and features a well-equipped library with DELNET membership, digital resources, and specialized facilities like a book bank for students.

    Under the leadership of Dr. Anil Chitade, the college emphasizes academic excellence, social commitment, and industry linkages.
