Millia Institute of Technology (MIT) is a pioneering private engineering college located in Purnia, Bihar. Established in 2002 by the Millia Educational Trust, MIT holds the distinction of being the first engineering college in the Seemanchal region. The institution is affiliated with Purnea University and has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Delhi.

The college initially launched with four core engineering branches: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science. In 2007, Civil Engineering was added to expand its academic offerings. The late Prof S.C Roy, the founder principal, played a crucial role in establishing the college's initial infrastructure, which began with a small library and main building.
