Jai Shriram Engineering College (JSREC) was established in 2009 by the Shenthil Velevan Charitable Trust, with the goal of providing quality technical education to the rural community around the textile city of Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. The college is affiliated with Anna University Chennai and offers various undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs.

JSREC is known for its industry-academic interactions and collaborations. The college has strong ties with the Barani group of companies (BHIPL), which provides hands-on training and project opportunities for students to gain practical experience. JSREC also facilitates scholarships for meritorious and needy students through its own industry resources as well as partnerships with corporate and multinational companies.

JSREC focuses on imparting knowledge, teamwork, innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethical values to its students. The institution has achieved several milestones, including NAAC accreditation, NBA accreditation for select programs, and the establishment of new departments such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Fashion Technology, and Information Technology. JSREC is aspiring to attain autonomous status in the near future, further strengthening its position as a leading engineering college.
