B.Tech. in Carpet and Textile Technology (Lateral Entry)

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) is a unique educational institution located in Bhadohi Nagar Palika, Uttar Pradesh. Established in 2001 by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the institute stands as the only institute of its kind in Asia dedicated to carpet and textile technology.

IICT offers a specialized Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Carpet and Textile Technology (CTT), with an annual intake of 33 students. The program provides comprehensive education covering both theoretical and practical aspects of textile production, including specialized areas such as Advanced Carpet Technology, Textile Design Technology, and Home Textile Technology. Students gain in-depth knowledge about dyeing processes, textile fibers, carpet washing, and various industrial techniques.

The institute has been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). Admission to the B.Tech program is conducted through JoSSA/CSAB, with options for lateral entry for diploma holders. IICT Bhadohi has demonstrated strong placement performance, with 43 out of 45 students placed in 2020-21, achieving a median salary package of INR 3,00,000. The institute is strategically located in Bhadohi, a city renowned as the largest hand-knotted carpet-weaving industry hub in South Asia, providing students with unique regional industrial exposure.
