Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Raichur is a dynamic and emerging institution located in Raichur, Karnataka. Established through the IIIT Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and formally notified in the Gazette of India on 28th September 2020, the institute began its academic journey under the initial mentorship of IIT Hyderabad.

Initially operating from a temporary campus at IIT Hyderabad, IIIT Raichur transitioned to its transit campus at GEC Yermarus Camp in Raichur, where all current academic activities are conducted. The institute achieved independence from IIT Hyderabad in November 2022, with an official handover completed on December 1st, 2022.

The institute has already made significant strides in its academic offerings, introducing a B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. IIIT Raichur has been recognized by the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), receiving the AISHE Code U-1089, which is crucial for students to access national scholarships. The institution is currently developing its permanent campus, which is expected to be operational soon.
