Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) is a prestigious private engineering institution located in Ludhiana, Punjab. Founded in 1956 under the aegis of Nankana Sahib Education Trust (NSET), the college was established with a powerful mission of 'Removal of Economic Backwardness through Technology'. The foundation stone was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, with a unique commitment to admit 70% of students from rural areas.

The college has a distinguished academic history, initially affiliated with Punjab University and later with I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). In 2012, it achieved a significant milestone by being conferred Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). GNDEC has been consistently recognized for its academic excellence, with most undergraduate courses accredited by the National Board of Accreditation multiple times since 2004. The institution has also been awarded an 'A' Grade by NAAC and has been twice accredited by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for placements.

GNDEC has received substantial support for educational advancement, including a Rs. 10 Crore grant from MHRD for the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-II) and a Rs. 1 Crore sanctioned by the Department of Science and Technology for research activities. The college has also distinguished itself in sports, remaining the overall sports champion of IKG Punjab Technical University. Additionally, IKGPTU declared GNDEC the Best Engineering College in 2011, 2012, and 2014 for outstanding placements among its affiliated colleges.

The institution supports extensive student engagement through its N.C.C. Company and N.S.S. units, with 106 N.C.C. cadets and 350 N.S.S. volunteers. The Institute provides three hostel for boys and one hostel for girls with total accomodation of about 1200 students, with all the basic amenities and services for the students. CCTV camera facility and power back up supply is also available.

In-Campus Hostel

The central library opens at 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on saturday. It has a collection of more than 93,109 books, 20,675 titles ,online books, print journals ,online journals and back volume journals. Library collection can also be accessed through Web OPAC at any terminal on the campus network. It is also connected with DELNET for inter library loan and document delivery services.
