Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology (GBPIET), located in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, is a government-run technical education institution with a rich history dating back to 1989. The college was established in memory of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a Bharat Ratna recipient, and began its first academic session in 1991.

The institute offers a comprehensive range of academic programs across multiple disciplines. At the undergraduate level, GBPIET provides B.Tech degrees in seven different engineering streams, including Biotechnology Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Production Engineering. Each program typically offers 60 seats, with Production Engineering having 15 seats.

Located approximately 11 km from Pauri and 33 km from Dev Prayag, the campus offers a picturesque setting with potential panoramic views of the Himalayas. The institute is affiliated with Uttarakhand Technical University and is managed by a Board of Governors, with the Minister of Technical Education of Uttarakhand serving as the chairman.
