Government Engineering College, Patan (GEC Patan) is an AICTE-approved government engineering institution located in Katpur village near Patan, Gujarat. Established in April 2004, the college initially began operations in the K. D. Polytechnic premises before moving to its own dedicated campus in August 2008.

The college offers five undergraduate engineering programs across diverse disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. When first established, the college started with three branches - Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering - each with an initial intake of 60 students. In June 2009, the college expanded by adding Electrical and Civil Engineering departments, and subsequently increased the intake capacity to 120 students per branch.

The Computer Science & Engineering Department features well-equipped laboratories with high-performance servers and computers, including specialized labs for C programming, computer networks, databases, advanced computing, and microprocessors. The entire campus is connected through a high-speed fiber network with a 100 Mbps internet facility available 24/7. The college emphasizes practical learning, with faculty members dedicated to providing quality education and keeping pace with current market trends through workshops, expert lectures, and industry interactions.
