Government College of Engineering, Kannur (GCEK) is a prominent public engineering institute located in Kerala, India. Established in October 1986 by the Directorate of Technical Education under the Government of Kerala, the college has grown into a sprawling 75-acre campus situated in Mangattuparamba, conveniently located near National Highway NH-17.

The institute offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. At the undergraduate level, GCEK provides B.Tech. courses in five disciplines: mechanical engineering (60 seats), civil engineering (60 seats), electrical and electronics engineering (60 seats), electronics and communication engineering (90 seats), and computer science and engineering (60 seats). Additionally, the college introduced M.Tech. programs in electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and civil engineering between 2011 and 2012.

GCEK boasts impressive infrastructure and facilities to support student learning and development. The campus includes seven buses for student and staff transportation, separate hostels for men and women, a cooperative store, canteen, and various recreational facilities. The institute features comprehensive academic resources, including department-specific computer labs, a central computer lab, and a library. In 2012, Careers360 magazine ranked GCEK among the best engineering institutes in Kerala with an AA+ rating. The college has also received national accreditation, with all undergraduate programs accredited by the National Board of Accreditation from 2023 to 2026.

The college supports a vibrant student ecosystem through numerous forums, clubs, and associations. These include a Sports and Health club, NSS unit, Guidance and Counselling cell, Nature club, Cultural Center, Alumni association, science forum, and IEEE Students Chapter. With a strong focus on practical learning, the Electronics and Communication Engineering department even features an advanced electronics fabrication laboratory equipped with laser cutters and 3D printers, enabling students to work on innovative projects.
