Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) is an autonomous engineering institution located in Amravati, Maharashtra. Established in 1964, it stands as one of the oldest engineering institutes in the state of Maharashtra. Initially affiliated with Nagpur University, the college transitioned to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in 1982.

The college began with three fundamental engineering disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. Over time, it expanded its academic offerings to include Electronic & Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, and Information Technology programs. GCOEA provides both undergraduate and postgraduate education, offering seven full-time postgraduate programs in areas such as Electrical Power Systems, Structures, Thermal Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Advanced Electronics, Computer Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering.

Sprawling across 114 acres on the Amravati Walgaon road, the campus features dedicated buildings for each department. The institute supports approximately 1,800 students and provides comprehensive residential facilities with separate boys' and girls' hostels. These hostels include Sahyadri and Satpuda boys' hostels, a new boys' hostel, Jijau Girls Hostel, and a newer girls' hostel. In 2005-06, GCOEA was granted academic autonomy by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with this status extended until 2019-20. The college is also a recognized research center for Ph.D. programs in multiple engineering disciplines, further solidifying its academic reputation.
