B.Tech. in Food Technology

The College of Fish Nutrition and Food Technology is a government institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Fisheries University Nagapattinam and was instituted at the Madhavaram Campus by TNJFU on September 17, 2018. 

The college offers a B.Tech. in Food Technology, which is a four-year program that includes three years of coursework and one year of hands-on training. The curriculum has been designed and recommended by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in New Delhi. The program follows a semester system with a total of 184 credits, including 182 instructional credits and 2 non-credits for physical education and national service. 

The B.Tech. Food Technology program aims to enhance students' knowledge and practical skills. It includes courses from departments such as Food Process Engineering, Food Processing Technology, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Food Business Management, and Food Plant Operations. The program also features industrial visits, in-plant training, internships, and academic skill-based training to provide students with exposure to the current status of the food processing sector. Graduates of this program will be equipped to pursue careers in the food industry, regulatory bodies, research and development, or entrepreneurship.
