Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) is an autonomous engineering institute located in Amravati, Maharashtra. Established in 1964, it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in the state of Maharashtra. Initially affiliated with Nagpur University, the college later shifted to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University in 1982.

The college began with three basic engineering disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. Over time, it expanded its academic offerings to include additional programs in Electronic & Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, and Information Technology. GCOEA now provides both undergraduate and postgraduate education, offering seven full-time postgraduate programs in areas such as Electrical Power Systems, Structures, Thermal Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Advanced Electronics, Computer Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering.

Spread across a 114-acre campus on Amravati Walgaon road, the college features dedicated department buildings and comprehensive student facilities. The institute provides separate boys' and girls' hostels, including the Sahyadri and Satpuda boys hostels, Jijau Girls Hostel, and newer hostel facilities established in recent years. GCOEA was granted academic autonomy by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2005-06, with autonomy extended until 2019-20. The college is also a recognized research center for Ph.D. programs in multiple engineering disciplines, with a current student strength of approximately 1,800.
