Bengal Institute of Technology (BIT), located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is a private engineering college established in the year 2000. Part of the Techno India Group, the institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.

The college features two campuses - one dedicated to the Biotechnology Department and another main building housing the remaining departments. Both campuses are fully Wi-Fi enabled and boast a comprehensive library with 34,612 books covering 3,436 titles across various subjects. BIT also provides a student activity center to support co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

BIT has achieved notable recognition in national rankings, being ranked 5th in West Bengal and 91st in India among engineering institutes by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2016. The college's rankings have continued to evolve, placing in the 151-200 band in 2018 and 251-300 band in 2020. Additionally, it was ranked 51st in the digital LEARNING National Engineering Ranking in 2020.

The institution has demonstrated strong student achievements, with students securing impressive ranks in national examinations like GATE and winning competitions such as the Smart India Hackathon. The college offers multiple AICTE-approved courses and continues to support student growth through various academic and extracurricular opportunities.
