Basaveshwar Engineering College, located in Bagalkote, Karnataka, is a premier technical institution that has been serving the educational needs of north Karnataka since 1963. The college offers a comprehensive range of academic programs, including eleven undergraduate disciplines and eight postgraduate programs, encompassing areas such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, and more.

The institution has achieved significant academic milestones, including being granted autonomous status by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and UGC in 2007. This autonomy has enabled the college to introduce innovative academic reforms and restructure curricula to align with technological developments and industry requirements. Eight of its departments have been recognized as Research Centers by VTU, and five departments are acknowledged as Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) Centers for Ph.D. programs by AICTE.

Spread across a sprawling 91-acre campus on the outskirts of Bagalkote, the college has received substantial support through grants, including over Rs. 38.52 Crores under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). The institution is committed to national development by producing high-quality technical graduates and providing socially relevant technological services. Its current student strength is approximately 560, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
